History
Romblon's history dates back to pre-Spanish times when the islands were already known to traders. Spanish missionaries arrived in the 1600s, and the centuries-old Cathedral of San Jose and Fort San Andres remain enduring witnesses to Romblon's storied past.
Geography
Romblon is composed of three main islands — Romblon, Cobrador (Naguso), and Logbon — and is located at the geographical center of the Philippine archipelago. The municipality covers around 87 square kilometers with both upland and coastal communities.
Economy
Marble quarrying and craftsmanship, fishing, agriculture, and tourism form the backbone of the local economy. Romblon marble is exported worldwide and adorns landmarks across the country.
